Veracode has crafted up another infographic, this time comparing how Google and Facebook stack up against each other when it comes to handling privacy and security concerns.

“The launch of Google+ signaled greater competition with Facebook in areas such as email, instant messaging, games and calendars, while some compliance and policy questions remain about how Google data will be managed and protected,” Veracode said in a statement. “Meanwhile, Facebook has been under a microscope, particularly in recent weeks, with much hype and speculation surrounding its potential November 5th cyber attack, which never materialized, and the announcement of several upcoming features aimed at improving security and privacy, specifically Trusted Friends and App Passwords.”

“Maintaining high standards for security and privacy across social networks has been a growing area of concern, one that our research team has been tracking closely. Today, with more than 322 million unique visitors between Facebook and Google, a tremendous number of users blindly trust these companies to protect their personal data,” said Connie Stack, vice president of corporate marketing, Veracode.
