Mobile management technology firm Good Technology, on Wednesday said that its Good for Enterprise™ platform now supports the Kindle Fire.

While the Kindle Fire isn’t the most popular device looking to be let into enterprise environments, IT departments can securely deploy and manage applications and business data on the consumer-focused tablet using Good’s mobile management solution.

The company cites reports of an estimated 4.5 million Kindle Fires sold since its November 2011 release as the reason it decided to invest in securing the new device from Amazon.

Customers with a Good for Enterprise server and client access license (CAL) can get the App for use on Kindle Fire from the Amazon Appstore for Android. If you believe your company is using Good’s platform, the company suggests you reach out to your IT administrator for activation instructions.

Good reported in November that over 70 percent of its largest customers already support “BYOD” and that 19 percent said they were considering or had plans to support the employee-owned device trend within the next 6-12 months.
