Network security firm Fortinet has introduced three two-factor authentication (TFA) products, and four new wireless access points, just in time for the next release of its FortiOS operating system later this month.
Fortinet says the new Access Points (FortiAP-320B, FortiAP-223B, FortiAP-112B and the FortiAP-11C) are part of the company’s wireless security initiative, and will provide customers with faster connections, easier deployments, and centralized management (they will each work seamlessly with the FortiGate appliance).
“Customers today want broad security solutions that are highly flexible, provide multiple deployment options and are, most of all, cost-effective.
However, Fortinet’s new FortiToken offerings (available now ahead of the FortiOS release), offer some flexibility for organizations looking to explore TFA options.
The FortiToken 200CD can be activated multiple tomes across multiple authentication servers thanks to an encryption activation file – eliminating the need to expose token seeds. FortiToken Mobile is an OAUTH compliant one-time password generator, which is available now on Google Play or Apple’s iTunes.
Lastly, the USB-based Smartcard Token (FortiToken 300) will manage and store PKI certificates and their associated keys, and can be combined with Fortinet’s Authenticator.
The tokens are available now. The APs will be available later this month alongside the next release of FortiOS.
Late last month, Fortinet announced that it had sold its one millionth network security appliance, 10 years since the company introduced its first multi-function network security appliances.
