Israeli security startup Entitle has attracted $15 million in early stage venture capital funding to build technology to address entitlement sprawl in the enterprise.

The Tel Aviv company said the seed-stage capital was provided by Glilot Capital Partners, a venture capital outfit focused on cybersecurity investments.

Entitle emerged from stealth Wednesday with a cloud permissions management platform that promises to automate how corporate access is requested, granted, and audited.

The company claims its SaaS-based platform can be used to automate account provisioning and establish access governance across complex, multi-cloud environments.

Entitle is promising tools to manage cloud entitlement requests received via Slack, Teams, Jira, or email. “With Entitle driving the approval process, IT and DevOps teams are no longer solely accountable for approving requests from people they don’t know to apps they’re not responsible for. Approval decisions are delegated to business unit owners for better context and authorizations that Security can trust,” the company said in its pitch.

The Entitle platform also promises to speed up access grants with the ability to provide just-in-time access to sensitive resources, ensuring permissions are only given when needed and removed once they are not.

The product can also be used to view all permissions (current or past) granted to employees and contractors and to automate compliance and certification processes.
