Rob Joyce, the director of cybersecurity at the National Security Agency (NSA), on Thursday announced that his role now has an official Twitter account.

The account, @NSA_CSDirector, is currently being used by Joyce, but it will likely be passed on to future NSA cybersecurity directors, similar to the @POTUS Twitter account used by the president of the United States.

Joyce has promised to share “insights and information about what we are up to.” His first tweet after announcing the creation of the account informed followers about the cybersecurity advisory released by the NSA in collaboration with other security agencies to describe a global brute force attack campaign attributed to Russia.

The account is in the process of being verified.

Joyce was announced as director of cybersecurity at NSA in January, when he replaced Anne Neuberger, who had been named Deputy National Security Advisor for Cyber and Emerging Technology by the Biden administration. He officially started in early April.

“As the new Cybersecurity director, he oversees NSA’s Cybersecurity Directorate, which was established in October 2019 to prevent and eradicate cyber threats to the Department of Defense, National Security Systems, and the Defense Industrial Base,” the NSA said at the time.

Prior to his role as director of cyber at the NSA, Joyce represented the intelligence agency in the UK, and served as senior adviser to the NSA director on cybersecurity strategy.

His previous roles also included cybersecurity coordinator in the Trump administration’s National Security Council, and head of the NSA’s Tailored Access Operations (TAO) hacking unit.
