Dell SecureWorks announced that starting in August, it will provide management and monitoring services for Next-Generation Firewalls from Palo Alto Networks. 
Dell SecureWorks will bring its full firewall management and monitoring services to Palo Alto Networks’ customers as part of its security services, including Intrusion Prevention/Detection, log monitoring and retention, SIEM, vulnerability management, security consulting, threat intelligence and more. 
In March, Palo Alto Networks released PAN-OS 4.0, the latest version of its core operating system that powers its next generation firewalls, touting over 50 new features and increased visibility into what traffic and threats are passing through enterprise networks. At the same time, the company announced updates on the hardware side, releasing the Palo Alto Networks PA-5000 Series, comprised of three high performance units, the PA-5020, the PA-5050 and the PA-5060, all of which are targeted at high-speed Internet gateway and datacenter deployments.
Under the agreement, Dell SecureWorks’ Next-Generation Firewall Management Service will help organizations reduce management and monitoring costs and provide unmetered support from Dell SecureWorks’ security experts. In addition, the service will offer flexible co-management options, policy and rule-set management, device upgrades and patch management as well as backup and recovery and extensive security and compliance reporting capabilities.
Palo Alto Networks, which prides itself on having 100% of its design and manufacturing taking place on United States soil, has only been selling a product since August 2008, but the company claims over 3,500 customers and a run rate that exceeded $100 million in annual sales in 2010, which the company says will at least double in 2011.
Pricing for the PA-5000 Series, which includes PA-5020, PA-5050 and PA-5060, starts at $40,000.
