Boston-based cyber insurance company Corvus on Tuesday announced the acquisition of UK-based cyber underwriting platform Tarian Underwriting Limited from Beat Capital Partners.
Following the acquisition, Tarian will become Corvus Underwriting Limited. Corvus claims it is the first insurtech company to acquire a London underwriting platform.
Tarian’s global presence will help Corvus expand its international footprint, and Corvus will gain access to Lloyd’s cyber insurance capacity. Financial terms have not been disclosed.
This is the second acquisition announced by Corvus. In August, the company acquired Wingman Insurance, which specializes in tech and cyber insurance. Corvus said at the time that the deal would help it enter the admitted coverage market and continue its growth.
Corvus last year announced raising $115 million in a Series C funding round, which brought the total raised by the company to more than $160 million.
This seems to be the first cybersecurity-related M&A deal announced in 2022. An analysis conducted by SecurityWeek shows that more than 400 mergers and acquisitions were announced in 2021 — a detailed report will be published next week.
