Corma Raises $60 Million for Defensive Cybersecurity AI Model

Corma emerged from stealth mode on Monday with $60 million in funding for a foundation model designed specifically for defensive cybersecurity.

Headquartered in Tel Aviv and San Francisco, Corma was founded in 2025. One of the company’s founders is Alon Pluda, who serves as CEO. 

The company has raised $60 million in seed funding from Sequoia Capital, Khosla Ventures, and Coatue.

Corma develops an AI foundation model exclusively engineered for defensive cybersecurity operations. The system processes large datasets of security telemetry, such as system events, audit logs, and network traffic. By analyzing this information, the technology connects subtle anomaly indicators over extended timeframes for complex threat evaluations.

This architecture powers automated agents that integrate directly into an organization’s current security infrastructure. The agents operate alongside human staff to handle a wide range of defensive duties while continuously adapting to their designated enterprise environments. 

Through this ongoing environmental learning, the agents detect and neutralize threats, including multi-stage intrusions.

Corma claims it ran tests using AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic, and while they were capable of conducting end-to-end attacks, they failed to defend against the same type of attacks.

“AI-powered attacks are operating at a speed and sophistication that neither human teams, better tooling, nor general-purpose AI can match. It requires a complete AI-powered defensive workforce, built from the ground up for cybersecurity, that gives defenders the same speed, sophistication, and generalization that AI has already given attackers,” said CEO Plude. “Corma’s mission is to make sure the defenders win this race – and every challenge that comes next.”
