Cloud incident response security startup Mitiga on Tuesday announced the completion of a $45 million Series A funding round that includes the addition of Samsung Next as a new investor.

Mitiga, an Israeli startup building technology to handle incident response in cloud and hybrid environments, originally announced a $25 million Series A in June 2021 with ClearSky as its lead investor. Prior backers Blackstone, Atlantic Bridge and DNX also took equity, the company said.

The company has raised a total of $45 million since its launch in 2020. Mitiga plans to use the investment to speed up growth in a lucrative but competitive marketplace. The company claims its approach can compress a cloud security investigation time from weeks or months to hours and can be used to reduce incident-related damage.

The Mitiga technology includes a forensic data lake for storing and analyzing data from various SaaS products and automated tools for breach readiness assessments and proactive forensic data acquisition.

The company said the platform also offers automated threat hunting and cloud incident response management and orchestration capabilities for businesses to speed investigations, minimize impact, and enhance resilience against future attacks.
