Application security platform NeuraLegion today announced a $20 million Series A funding round complemented by its rebranding as Bright Security. To date, the company received over $25 million in venture money.

The investment round was led by Evolution Equity Partners and received participation from previous investors, including DNX Ventures, Fusion Fund, Incubate Fund, and J-ventures.

Founded in 2018, Bright Security provides an app-sec platform aimed at helping developers, DevOps, and application security professionals easily secure web apps and APIs.

The startup seeks to help organizations ensure that security tools can keep pace with the growing number of applications that are being deployed into production.

Focused on the ‘shift-left’ approach to security, Bright claims its solutions cover the entire software development lifecycle, while achieving production compliance.

In addition to helping resolve vulnerabilities before they reach production, Bright aims to eliminate false positives by validating that identified security flaws are indeed exploitable. The company’s automated, artificial intelligence-powered solution also hunts for business logic bugs.

Bright Security, which is headquartered in San Francisco but has offices in Israel and Europe as well, will invest the new funds in product expansion and in growing its engineering, marketing, and sales teams.
