Booz Allen Hamilton Establishes Operations in Kuwait to Enhance Technology and Cyber Defense Capabilities
IT consulting services firm, Booz Allen Hamilton, announced on Wednesday that it has setup shop and established a new partnership in Kuwait in order to secure key government contracts related to both government and commercial projects in the Gulf state.
According to a statement, the firm is now registered by the Kuwait Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and will provide services to government and commercial clients in the areas of information technology, cyber security, transportation and other infrastructure projects.
The firm says it will focus on providing services to Kuwaiti organizations in key sectors, including energy, financial services, healthcare, mobile technologies and core infrastructure. Following the spin-off of its international and commercial business in 2008, Booz Allen Hamilton was under a non-compete agreement with Booz & Co. that expired in 2011.
Following the expiration, Booz Allen Hamilton made a move and has established a MENA regional headquarters office in Abu Dhabi, with employees scattered across the region.
The move to enter Kuwait follows its recent licensing in Qatar, as it looks to expand its government and commercial consulting business in the Middle East and North Africa.
The firm is pushing various services to government and commercial clients across the region, but in particular, Booz Allen Hamilton’s says its cyber capabilities will prove to be valuable in Kuwait to protect the country’s developing economy and infrastructure against cyber-attacks. “To thwart these attacks,” the company says, “clients must embrace a dynamic cyber-defense capability in response to the aggressive and methodical approach cyber adversaries themselves now deploy.”
Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, Booz Allen Hamilton currently employs more than 25,000 people, and had revenue of $5.59 billion for the 12 months ended March 31, 2011.
