Hugh Njemanze, Founder and CTO of ArcSight Joins ThreatStream as CEO

ThreatStream, a security startup that offers a SaaS-based cyber security intelligence platform, announced this week that Hugh Njemanze, former co-founder, CTO and executive vice president of research and development at ArcSight, has taken the role as chief executive officer (CEO).

Njemanze co-founded ArcSight in May 2000 and led product development, information technology deployment and product research leading up to HP’s acquisition of ArcSight for $1.75 billion in 2010.

Most recently, Njemanze served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

Earlier in his career, Njemanze served as CTO at Verity and held a software engineering position at Apple, where he was one of the key architects of the Data Access Language (DAL). He has over 20 issued patents and more patents pending in the area of network security.

“It’s a thrill to be working with Hugh to grow the ThreatStream business and platform,” ThreatStream founder, Greg Martin said in a statement. “His ability to build teams, his commitment to the customer, and his understanding of how to build a world-class security company from start-up to maturity, is exactly what we need to realize the full potential of threat intelligence, collaboration and detection.”

Martin will continue in his role as founder and chief technical officer (CTO), and Colby DeRodeff will assume responsibilities as chief strategy officer (CSO) effective immediately, the company said.

ThreatStream’s OPTIC platform aggregates millions of unstructured cyber threats in real-time, leveraging proprietary algorithms to automate malware classification and threat actor attribution, giving customers actionable advice and priority ranking of an organization’s threat intelligence stream.
