Heeler Security has raised $8.5 million in seed funding for its ProductDNA application security technology.

Application security startup Heeler Security today announced raising $8.5 million in a seed funding round led by Norwest Venture Partners, with additional support from Storm Ventures.

Founded in 2023, the US-based company is focused on helping organizations protect their applications and improve security without impact on efficiency.

According to Heeler, its ProductDNA technology provides real-time code, behavior, and business context, so that organizations can automate the process of assessing security risks and prioritize operations and objectives.

The solution acts as a shared operating platform for security teams and developers, ensuring continuous security throughout the application’s lifecycle, offering visibility into the risks that code changes introduce, and enabling the development of resilient products.

Its platform, Heeler says, maps service relationships and dependencies, facilitates collaboration, eliminates false positives, and provides real-time tracking of issues, to enable holistic supply chain security.

In addition to workflow automation, Heeler also offers secrets management, incident tracking, and automated response, and integrates with existing tools and platforms for comprehensive security.

Heeler says its ProductDNA technology, which is already used by multiple partners, including Fortune 500 companies, will become generally available in the fourth quarter of the year.

“We are uniquely positioned to seize a massive market opportunity by creating a platform that offers comprehensive SDLC [software development lifecycle] security at the convergence of application and cloud. This round of seed funding will support our execution of that vision,” Heeler CEO Chris Hertz said.
