Network security provider Arbor Networks has teamed with Alcatel-Lucent to establish a new proof-of-concept laboratory in Singapore for communications service providers to conduct testing of technologies to fight distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.
The move builds upon a partnership between the two companies. Earlier this year, Arbor Networks and Alcatel-Lucent announced the integration of Arbor’s Threat Management System (TMS) DDoS mitigation software into the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 Service Router (SR) family to help communications service providers counter DDoS attacks by improving detection.
According to the companies, the POC Laboratory gives customers the ability to see live demonstrations of this integrated technology, as well as to test various DDoS attacks and techniques so that customers can conduct trials to better understand the technologies and DDoS-prevention best practices.
