AIUC Raises $40 Million to Certify Enterprise AI Agents

The company provides a standard for AI systems, testing them against risks such as jailbreaks, prompt injections, and unauthorized actions.

Funding

AIUC (Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company) has announced raising $40 million in a Series A funding round that brings the total raised by the company to $55 million.

The investment round was led by Ribbit Capital, with additional support from First Harmonic.

Founded in 2024, San Francisco-based AIUC developed AIUC-1, an evaluation and risk standard designed to assess enterprise AI agents.

The standard checks AI agents against common risks, including jailbreaks, hallucinations, prompt injections, anomalous behavior, and data leaks.

The framework subjects AI models to roughly 5,000 adversarial risk scenarios, backed by quarterly audits to address emerging threat vectors.

The AIUC-1 standard, the startup says, is already used to certify some of the most popular AI agents, including Cursor, ElevenLabs, Fin, Harvey, KPMG, Lovable, and UiPath.

AIUC will use the new investment to expand its audits, standards, and insurance to frontier models.

“Most enterprises have a list of AI agents that were approved in pilots but stalled at the security review. Evidence of security and reliability is now the main bottleneck,” said AIUC founder Rune Kvist, who was Anthropic’s first product hire.
