Airbus to Buy German Cybersecurity Firm Infodas

Airbus Defence and Space is set to acquire Infodas, a Germany-based company that boasts €50 million revenue.

Airbus Defence and Space announced on Monday that it’s acquiring Infodas, a Germany-based company that provides cybersecurity and other IT solutions.

Airbus said the deal enables it to strengthen its cybersecurity portfolio.

Financial terms of the acquisition have not been made public, but the amount may be significant considering that Infodas boasts an annual revenue of €50 million ($54 million). The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of 2024.

Infodas provides Secure Domain Transition (SDoT) security gateway appliances that allow unidirectional or bi-directional data exchanges between networks or systems at different security levels.

Its offering also includes an information security management system (ISMS) for governance, risk and compliance, as well as a patch management solution.

The company also provides penetration testing and consulting services.

Infodas works with companies and government organizations, including the military and critical infrastructure. The company has been certified by Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for auditing, consulting and penetration testing services, and its SDoT product is approved for classification levels up to ‘secret’.

The news comes a week after it was announced that Airbus pulled out of a deal to buy Atos’ Big Data and Security (BDS) business. When the potential acquisition was announced in early January, Atos said it had received an offer valuing the BDS unit between roughly $1.6 billion and $2 billion.
