Accenture Expands OT Security Capabilities With Acquisition of Philadelphia-based Revolution Security

Consulting giant Accenture announced this week that it has acquired critical infrastructure protection firm Revolutionary Security for an undisclosed sum.

A privately held startup, Philadelphia-based Revolutionary Security provides security solutions for both information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) environments.

The company offers assessment and testing solutions, design and build of security programs and functions, SOC operations, and security services for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) / SCADA.

Its LiveFire breach and attack simulation testing service helps clients with identifying gaps in security processes and monitoring, and staff operations and technologies.

Founded in 2016, Revolutionary Security has 90 employees and had raised $2.5 million in funding.

With this acquisition, Accenture aims to provide its customers with end-to-end solutions that would help them better face complex IT and OT cyber-security challenges.

“Revolutionary Security’s service offerings are a perfect complement to Accenture’s portfolio, and the acquisition furthers our mission of helping clients better protect and defend their organizations across their entire ecosystem,” Kelly Bissell, who leads Accenture Security globally, said.

Earlier this year, Accenture announced the acquisition of UK-based cyber defense consultancy Context Information Security, and that of Symantec’s Cyber Security Services business. Previously, the company acquired Deja vu Security and several other cybersecurity solution providers.
