Threat prevention firm FireEye and Verizon Enterprise announced this week that they have teamed up to bring together Verizon managed services and FireEye threat protection offerings.
The agreement will enable FireEye and Verizon to offer a combination of technology, intelligence, services and expertise to help protect enterprises, the companies said.
Intelligence gathered FireEye’s global network of virtual machines, together with Verizon managed security services’ visibility into the cyber threat landscape, will give joint FireEye and Verizon clients access to valuable threat intelligence and enable security teams to identify, block and provide context around the nature of an attack.
According to Verizon’s Kathie Miley, executive director, global security solutions, Verizon will initially offer FireEye Mobile Threat Prevention (MTP) services and will bundle it with Verizon’s other managed security services beginning early next year.
“From working with thousands of clients around the globe we know there’s a need to update not only the security technology but how we think about combating today’s ever-evolving threat landscape,” Miley said in a statement. “By teaming with FireEye, we’re able to offer clients the technology for detecting advanced threats, as well as the intelligence to provide our customers with the insight into the nature of an attack and a path to remediate before a threat becomes significant.”
“This agreement with Verizon allows us to scale our threat intelligence and correlate data from across an organization – and in particular the mobile vector – to give customers improved visibility into multi-stage attacks,” commented David DeWalt, CEO of FireEye.
Earlier this month, FireEye announced that it was teaming up with Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) to offer FireEye’s technology to SingTel customers in the cyber Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Under the partnership, new security operation centers will be launched in Singapore and Australia, along with a SingTel managed defense solution powered by FireEye that will provide continuous monitoring, threat detection and mitigation to enterprises and government customers, along with threat protection for mobile devices.
FireEye also announced an integration partnership with MobileIron this month, which will enable IT departments to “take proactive security actions” through the MobileIron platform in response to mobile threats identified by FireEye, according to the announcement.
