The popular Twitter account used to spread hacktivist related news appears to have been suspended by Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, due to violating Twitter’s Terms and Conditions.
Twitter reportedly sent the email below to the email address connected with @YourAnonNews account Wednesday afternoon:
But the social handle for the hacker collective bounced back quickly and appeared to be back in action around 1PM ET. Based on the content of the email sent from Twitter, all that was needed to reactivate the account was a response to Twitter’s Trust and Safety team that they have read and undersood Twitter’s rules.
The first Tweet coming from the account after being suspended read: “BREAKING: We’re back mother$#@$ers” [Edited]”
With nearly 700,000 followers, the @YourAnonNews Twitter handle is one of several used to interactive with the hacktivist community to spread news of actions, operations and media coverage of operations or “Ops” conducted by the hacktivist collective.
While Twitter made the move to enforce its terms and conditions, the company likely responded quickly to reactivate the account if conditions were met to avoid picking a fight witht the collective that is known for organizing DDoS attacks and other hacks.
