Trend Micro Opens New Global Operations Headquarters

Security software maker Trend Micro officially announced the grand opening of its Global Operations Headquarters in Irving/Las Colinas, Texas this week.

Located just outside of Dallas, the new location will house operations for the company’s threat research, finance, legal, customer support, commercial sales and marketing, and human resources business units.

The company said the move would consolidate a portion of operations from its Cupertino (California) location with existing resources in Texas to support growth in the U.S.

The new facility will house 220 employees to start, though it is set to handle expansion as the company grows its presence in the area.  

“With our new base of operations in the United States, we are further demonstrating a relentless dedication to customers as we enter a new era after our first quarter century in business,” Eva Chen, CEO of Trend Micro said in statement. “We are excited that ‘Trenders’ from all around the world will experience the vibrant business community the Dallas-Fort Worth area has to offer.”

“This location will serve a vital role for the company as we continue to gain momentum worldwide,” added Kevin Simzer, senior vice president, marketing and business development. “The Dallas-Fort Worth office affords us an ideal location to be successful, with access to an exceptional talent pool and the ability to travel anywhere in the world with ease.”

In addition to announcing its new headquarters, the company announced the launch of a new program to support K-12 schools across the nation. The company is kicking off its Educational Grant program with a gift to the Irving Independent School District.

This initiative will support “technology-safe” education at K-12 public schools and districts across the country. A total of $25,000 in cash, software and technology services will be awarded to each recipient to help keep students safe online with both training and Trend Micro’s innovative security software. The program will also include an Internet Safety Awareness assembly to teach best practices for online safety.

Trend Micro was founded in 1988 by Steve and Jenny Chang, along with her sister, Eva Chen, in Los Angeles.
