Return Path, provider of email intelligence information and solutions, today launched two anti-phishing solutions that it says will arm brand marketers and IT security professionals with tools to protect their brands through visibility into known, unknown and potentially harmful, fraudulent email traffic.

Gaining visibility into the growing number of customer-targeted attacks in a timely manner has been a challenge for brands, NYC-based Return Path explained.

With the launch of the two products, Domain Protect and Domain Secure, Return Path says it providing tools to organizations that can be used to proactively block phishing and fraud, improve email visibility and ensure email governance through threat intelligence.

Both products offer real-time alerting to notify organizations when a legitimate email is failing authentication or when potentially fraudulent emails are leveraging their brands in an attack against their customers.

Domain Protect offers full visibility into who is using an organization’s email domains and gives marketers the ability to proactively block customer-targeted phishing and email fraud attacks. Real-time alerts notify administrators on potential infrastructure issues or suspicious activity. The product supports Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC), making it easier for marketers to take advantage of the standard and its policy management and reporting capabilities.

For those unfamiliar, DMARC is a standard drafted by some of the largest Internet firms as means to counter attack phishing, and a way to improve coordination between email providers and mail sender domain owners to combat spam.

Domain Secure includes the features of Domain Protect, and helps combat against phishing attacks by providing threat intelligence to help facilitate phishing site prosecution efforts. Domain Secure also leverages Return Path’s ISP relationships to acquire actionable data when an phishing attack hits a server, and works with takedown vendors to remove fraudulent sites as quickly as possible, the company said.

“Domain Protect and Domain Secure are shifting control of email communication back to the brand, providing companies with broad visibility into fraudulent activity and giving them the ability to fight back against phishers to maintain their brands’ equity with current and prospective customers,” Matt Blumberg, CEO of Return Path said in a statement.

The company said that Domain Protect and Domain Secure power the anti-phishing Trusted Email Registry for BITS, the technology policy division of The Financial Services Roundtable, and FS-ISAC (Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center).
