Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) today announced that it has acquired Reston, Virginia based Technology Associates Inc., a company that provides data extraction and analysis, digital media intercept and exploitation, embedded system programming, and information assurance services to the U.S. intelligence community.
Technology Associates will become part of Raytheon’s Intelligence and Information Systems (IIS) business. Technology Associates President Preston Harrelle joins Raytheon and will continue to lead business operations while taking on a broader cyberstrategy role across the Information Security Solutions (ISS) product line.
“Now more than ever, our customers are acutely aware of the depth and breadth of the cyber threat,” said Lynn Dugle, president of IIS. “By acquiring Technology Associates and integrating its talent and expertise into our business, we’ll further strengthen our ability to meet the evolving needs of our customers,” Dugle added.
Founded in 1990, Technology Associates has 110 employees. The acqusition will extend Raytheon’s experience in cybersecurity, information operations and information assurance. Raytheon’s defensive solutions protect against breach, fraud, theft and sabotage, while its offensive solutions target the identification and remediation of attack vectors used by cyber adversaries.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
