Oracle this week published its July 2019 Critical Patch Update (CPU), which brings a total of 319 security fixes across numerous product families.
While fewer than 200 of these vulnerabilities can be exploited remotely without authentication, over 50 of them are rated Critical severity, almost all of them featuring a CVSS score of 9.8.
This month’s Oracle CPU also includes re-released fixes for the WebLogic Server vulnerabilities that were patched since the April 2019 CPU, namely CVE-2019-2725 and CVE-2019-2729. The former was already being exploited in live attacks at the time a patch was released.
Financial Services Applications was the most affected product, with a total of 60 fixes released for it. Of the addressed vulnerabilities, 50 are remotely exploitable without authentication, Oracle explains in its advisory. Twelve of the bugs are rated Critical (CVSS score of 9.8).
MySQL was the second most impacted product, with 45 addressed vulnerabilities, 4 of which may be exploited remotely without authentication. Fusion Middleware comes in third, with 33 addressed vulnerabilities, 28 of which may be remotely exploitable without authentication.
Oracle has also addressed 24 vulnerabilities in Communications Applications, 21 of which are remotely exploitable without authentication. Eight of the vulnerabilities have a Critical severity risk, featuring a CVSS score of 9.8.
A total of 21 flaws were addressed in Retail Applications, including 14 that are remotely exploitable without authentication.
Fourteen vulnerabilities were addressed in Sun Systems Products Suite, 8 remotely exploitable without authentication. Fourteen were patched in Virtualization too, but only one remotely exploitable.
Oracle fixed 13 flaws in E-Business Suite (12 remotely exploitable without authentication), as well as 12 bugs in Enterprise Manager Products Suite (10 remotely exploitable), and 10 vulnerabilities in Java SE (9 remotely exploitable).
Database Server (9 vulnerabilities – 1 remotely exploitable without authentication), Construction and Engineering Suite (8 flaws – 8 remotely exploitable), Supply Chain Products Suite (8 – 6), PeopleSoft Products (8 – 5), Insurance Applications (7 – 7), Support Tools (7 – 7), JD Edwards Products (5 – 5), and Berkeley DB (5 – 0) received patches as well.
Other products that received fixes this month are Utilities Applications (3 vulnerabilities – all remotely exploitable without authentication), Food and Beverage Applications (3 – 2), Siebel CRM (3 – 1), Hyperion (3 – 0), Hospitality Applications (2 – 1), GraalVM (2 – 1), and Global Lifecycle Management (1 – 0).
