IBM Security on Tuesday announced plans to acquire ReaQta, an early-stage European startup in the red-hot autonomous threat detection and response business.
Financial terms of the transaction were not released. ReaQta, based in the Netherlands, raised an undisclosed Series A funding round earlier this year.
IBM Security, based in Armonk, New York, said the acquisition expands its push in the extended detection and response (XDR) market. The deal is expected to close later this year.

In tandem with the planned ReaQta acquisition, the company also unveiled IBM QRadar XDR, a platform that combines the collection of network telemetry with traditional monitoring and rapid response technologies.
Once the deal closes, IBM said ReaQta’s technology will become part of this new portfolio, adding expanded native XDR capabilities to IBM’s security portfolio
ReaQta, which maintains offices in the Netherlands and Singapore, has built a behavioral-based platform that promises to help stop known and unknown threats in real-time and can be deployed in a hybrid model — on premise or in the cloud as well as air gapped environments.
