F5 Networks (NASDAQ: FFIV) announced on Tuesday that it would acquire Versafe, a provider of anti-fraud, anti-phishing, and anti-malware solutions.
Versafe’s web and mobile protection solutions combined with its Security Operations Center (“SOC”) will provide greater breadth to F5’s existing security solutions.
Based in Tel Aviv, Israel, Versafe offers cloud-based solutions that help organizations protect against fraud and data theft, through the detection of malware-born fraud and other client side threats for mobile and web applications.
Additionally, F5 said that its Identity and Access Management solution will gain the ability to protect credentials from being stolen by malware on the user’s device, while its Mobile Application and Device Management solution will benefit from the ability to better protect business-to-consumer applications.
“The acquisition supports F5’s vision and commitment to provide our customers with secure access to data and applications from any location; from any device,” said Karl Triebes, EVP of Product Development and CTO at F5. “Web applications are under increasing attack, which can lead to the theft of intellectual property, money, sensitive data and identity. Versafe provides comprehensive, real-time detection and protection for every user, every device and every browser.”
The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Versafe has been an F5 Technology Alliance Partner with integration through F5’s iRules technology.
