Twenty-seven cybersecurity-related merger and acquisition (M&A) deals were announced in February 2024.

An analysis conducted by SecurityWeek shows that more than 400 cybersecurity M&A deals were announced in 2023, with a drop seen in both volume and disclosed deal value.  

Here is a list of the most important cybersecurity M&A deals announced in February 2024: 

1Password acquires Kolide

Password manager 1Password has acquired US-based company Kolide, which provides contextual access management solutions that enable organizations to understand and manage security risks, preventing unknown or unsecure devices from accessing applications. 

Armis acquires CTCI

Asset intelligence security firm Armis is buying threat intelligence company CTCI (Cyber Threat Cognitive Intelligence) and will leverage its technology to create an early warning system designed to help SOC teams be more effective in preventing breaches and detecting attacks. Armis is reportedly paying $20 million for CTCI. 

Cohesity acquires Veritas data protection businesses

Data security firm Cohesity will buy Veritas’ data protection business for $3 billion, creating a data security and management giant valued at roughly $7 billion.

Delinea acquires Fastpath

Privileged access management (PAM) firm Delinea announced a definitive agreement to acquire identity governance and administration company Fastpath. The deal enables Delinea to enhance its privileged access, controls, and governance capabilities.

F5 acquires Wib

F5 has acquired Israeli API security startup Wib, reportedly for tens of millions of dollars. Wib technology will be used by F5 for vulnerability detection and observability in application development, and for identifying risks.

Resilience acquires BreachQuest

Risk management firm Resilience has acquired incident response company BreachQuest in an effort to expand its capabilities. The goal is to enhance incident response mechanisms against business email compromise (BEC) attacks.

Spirit Technology Solutions acquires InfoTrust

Spirit Technology Solutions announced buying InfoTrust for roughly $22.5 million. Spirit will combine its SOC and managed services with InfoTrust’s assurance and governance, risk management and compliance services. Both companies are based in Australia. 

Security Compass acquires Kontra

Application security company Security Compass has acquired application security training software provider Kontra from ThriveDX. The deal enables Security Compass to expand its application security training offerings. 

Superna acquires DefendX

Superna, a company that provides software for the management and protection of data, has acquired data security firm DefendX to expand its cyberstorage capability. DefendX technologies are already being integrated into Superna’s solutions.

Haveli acquires ZeroFox

ZeroFox, which markets itself as a provider of “external cybersecurity solutions”, has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Haveli Investments, a tech-focused private equity firm, in an all-cash transaction with an enterprise value of roughly $350 million.

Tufin acquires AKIPS

Network and cloud security policy automation firm Tufin has acquired AKIPS, a provider of network monitoring solutions for enterprises. The addition of AKIPS enables Tufin to provide customers with enhanced visibility into network operations and performance.
