Oracle Plans Massive Patch Update to Address 73 Security Vulnerabilities

Oracle has issued a critical patch update pre-release announcement saying that on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 the database giant will release will release a critical patch update containing 73 new security vulnerability fixes across hundreds of its products.

Oracle LogoOracle says that some of the vulnerabilities addressed in the upcoming patch update affect multiple products. Oracle also warns that due to the threat posed by a successful attack, customers should apply Critical Patch Update fixes as soon as possible.

Affected Products and Components with Security vulnerabilities addressed by this Critical Patch Update include:

• Oracle Database 11g Release 2, versions 11.2.0.1, 11.2.0.2

• Oracle Database 11g Release 1, version 11.1.0.7

• Oracle Database 10g Release 2, versions 10.2.0.3, 10.2.0.4, 10.2.0.5

• Oracle Database 10g Release 1, version 10.1.0.5

• Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1, versions 11.1.1.2.0, 11.1.1.3.0, 11.1.1.4.0

• Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3, version 10.1.3.5.0
