Fortinet Makes Sandbox Available as Virtual Appliance

Network security firm Fortinet today announced that its sandboxing solution, FortiSandbox, is now available as a virtual appliance.

Network security firm Fortinet today announced that its sandboxing solution, FortiSandbox, is now available as a virtual appliance.

Designed to help customers deploy threat protection sandboxes within their infrastructure, the latest FortiSandbox-VM release also features a new API for integration with Fortinet’s other security solutions.

The first product to leverage the new API is FortiMail, which is now able to hold messages for sandbox inspection and then act on the discoveries.

FortiSandbox-VM features a dual-level sandbox with inspection of all protocols and functions in one appliance. Additionally, threat intelligence, actionable insight and the ability to share information with FortiGuard Labs combine to help enterprises reduce the risk of compromise and breach, Fortinet said.

“The new FortiSandbox-VM offering aims to expand advanced threat capabilities to a growing base of enterprise users by increasing flexibility and availability, enabling them to deploy scalable sandbox technology both easily and affordably,” the company explained.

Fortinet already offers sandboxing solutions in both cloud and physical appliance deployment options.

The virtual, cloud and on-premise versions of FortiSandbox are available immediately.
